Palworld, the Pokémon-like survival crafting game, has a multiplayer component, but it can be finicky. There’s no PvP in the game, and while you can collaborate with your friends to build bigger bases and take down baddies, some of the progression remains solo.

All that said, playing games is more fun with more people. Below, we explain how the multiplayer and crossplay (or lack thereof) works in Palworld.

 

There are two ways to play Palworld multiplayer with friends: joining a co-op game (up to 4 players) or joining a server (up to 32 players). Here's how to do both:

Joining a Co-op Game:

1. Host creates a world and enables multiplayer:
   • When creating a new world, select "Multiplayer" under "World Settings."
   • If joining an existing world, pause the game, go to "World Settings," and enable "Multiplayer."
2. Host finds the invite code:
   • Pause the game and go to the Options tab.
   • Click "Reveal Invite Code" and copy the code.
3. Friends join the game:
   • On the main menu, select "Join Multiplayer Game (Invite Code)."
   • Enter the invite code from the host and click "Join."

Joining a Server:

1. Select "Join Multiplayer Game" from the main menu.
2. Choose a server from the list:
   • You can browse by criteria like game mode, region, and player count.
   • You can also enter a server's IP address directly.
3. Create a character and choose a starting location.

Additional Tips:

 

• The host's computer should have good internet connection for a smooth co-op experience.
• When rejoining a co-op game after leaving, you'll need a new invite code from the host.
• To share a base and resources with friends in a co-op game, join the same Guild.
• PvP is not currently available in Palworld multiplayer, but it is planned for a future update.

• There is currently no cross-play between the Xbox and PC versions of Palworld.
• Dedicated servers can only be hosted on PC.
